Speicherzone Nord – Marketing of capacities for storage year 2026/2027

[Kassel, 12 December 2025] Starting on the 18 December 2025 SEFE Storage GmbH will offer part of its previously unmarketed storage capacity for the Rehden storage facility as a reinterpreted storage product for Speicherzone Nord for the storage year 2026/2027, in several auction procedures on the PRISMA capacity platform.

Due to technical capabilities, up to 8.93 TWh of working gas volume will be transferred from the Rehden storage facility to the Speicherzone Nord. The new storage product will be available in 200 bundles with the following bundle structure:

Product term: 01/04/2026–01/04/2027

• firm working gas volume: 44,676,308 kWh
• firm injection rate: 21,559 kWh/h
• interruptible injection rate: 7,500 kWh/h
• firm withdrawal rate: 33,159 kWh/h

As a result of the ordinance (GasSpFüllstV) issued by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) on 6 May 2025, a filling level requirement of 45% applies to the Rehden storage facility on the 1st of November, while the requirement for the 1st of February remains at 30%.

No variable fee is charged for the storage product. The technical and applicable injection and withdrawal curves shall be considered.

Interruptible injection and withdrawal rates can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis on PRISMA, to ensure further flexibility.

The respective auction date and the number of bundles offered will be communicated to all companies already registered on PRISMA and approved by SEFE Storage 24 hours in advance.

Companies that are not yet registered and interested in participating are asked to submit a request via PRISMA, taking into account the registration deadline. The information relevant for the storage product can be found on the homepage www.sefe-storage.de under auction products.
