Working together for the Learning Farm: SEFE Storage and SEFE Energy's CSR team day

In glorious sunshine, colleagues from SEFE Storage and SEFE Energy spent a joint CSR team day at the learning farm operated by VEREINT MENSCH-TIER-NATUR e.V. in Kassel. Alongside the presentation of a donation, the main focus was on one thing above all: rolling up our sleeves together and making a tangible contribution to the association’s valuable work.

After a welcome on site, participants were equipped with the necessary tools and work gear before heading straight to the various projects across the farm. Working in small teams, colleagues supported a range of activities, including work in the vegetable garden, the maintenance and enhancement of outdoor areas, and sanding and painting benches and other wooden structures. With great commitment, strong team spirit and plenty of enthusiasm, meaningful progress was made throughout the site.

A special highlight of the day was the presentation of a donation cheque for €4,500. On behalf of SEFE Energy and SEFE Storage, Thomas Ruttmann, Managing Director of SEFE Storage, handed over the donation to the association and acknowledged the importance of its work:

"We would like to make a contribution to help ensure that children, young people and families can continue to benefit from the wide range of opportunities and support offered here in the future."

The learning farm has been operated by VEREINT MENSCH-TIER-NATUR e.V. since 2025 and provides children and young people with a unique environment to experience nature, animals and community in an active and meaningful way. Its programmes include open youth activities, projects for schools and daycare centres, holiday programmes, animal-assisted educational and support initiatives as well as various family activities. The association’s goal is to create an inclusive learning environment where young people can learn through hands-on experiences, strengthen their social skills and develop a sustainable mindset. Animals such as donkeys, chickens, rabbits and dogs play an important role as companions and learning partners.

During a guided tour of the site, participants gained valuable insights into the association’s work and the different projects carried out at the learning farm. Particularly impressive was the wide range of opportunities offered to children and young people, enabling access to nature experiences, education and social participation regardless of individual circumstances.

The team day clearly demonstrated how much can be achieved when engagement extends beyond everyday work. In addition to the visible improvements made around the farm, the day provided an excellent opportunity for colleagues from different areas of the business to connect, work towards a shared goal and make a positive contribution to the local community.

A heartfelt thank you to all colleagues from SEFE Energy andSEFE Storage whose dedication and enthusiasm made this successful CSR team day possible.
